The plot of Mission Istaanbul 2 follows the events of the first film, where Vikas Sagar (Zayed Khan), a journalist working for a controversial news channel in Istanbul, uncovers a conspiracy involving a terrorist group called Al Gazni. He is helped by Rizwan Khan (Vivek Oberoi), a Turkish commando who has a personal vendetta against Al Gazni. In the sequel, Vikas and Rizwan are joined by Anjali (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), Vikas's ex-wife who is also a journalist, and Abhishek (Abhishek Bachchan), a CBI officer who is investigating Al Gazni's activities in India. Together, they face a new enemy, who is revealed to be none other than Owais Hussain (Sunil Shetty), the owner of the news channel and the mastermind behind Al Gazni. Owais has a sinister plan to unleash a nuclear attack on India and Turkey, and only Vikas, Rizwan, Anjali, and Abhishek can stop him.
